BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is a systematic approach to changing a behavior by applying interventional methods, and to demonstrate that the changed behavior is a result of the intervention.
Behavioral Analysis Services

When a child exhibits a behavioral concern, ABA is sometimes used as a method for finding the root cause or the main contributing factors underlying the concern. Once a cause is determined, an appropriate treatment plan—which may or may not include behavioral therapy—can be made. For example, if a child is showing signs of aggression, the behavioral analysis may indicate that the problem behavior is related to an undisclosed trauma. In such a case, a therapeutic approach that helps the child resolve the emotions associated with the trauma, rather than behaviors that resulted from the stress of the experience, may be recommended.

Our board-certified behavior technicians and behavior analysts use traditional ABA in combination with other approaches in evaluating and treating behavioral concerns in the family. The defining focus is always what works best for each individual involved.

In Home & In School Services

Are you interested in these services occurring in your home or your child’s school?

Sometimes a developmental concern or behavioral issue may be best observed and treated in a child’s natural environment. In a child’s home or school setting, a clinician can better see how the environment both affects and is influenced by the specific concern. When appropriate treatment is provided within the setting, such as assisting with fine motor skills in the classroom, for example, it can help a child learn and use the skills more effectively and more permanently, and often leads to better teamwork with a child’s teachers and school staff, which help to reinforce the newly learned skills or behaviors.

With a focus on holistic, individualized care, Kinder Konsulting ensures that when these off-site services are part of the individual plan, communication among team members, specialists and the client remain a top priority, so that everyone involved is working toward the same goal.
